What PECR requires
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) sit alongside UK GDPR and govern electronic marketing in the UK. For email (and similar electronic mail), you generally need specific, informed, freely given consent before you market, unless a narrow existing-customer exception applies. PECR has no certification scheme. Huuddle is not "PECR certified".
How that maps onto a Huuddle campaign
A Huuddle campaign is not a banner or a click. It is a named-brand opt-in on a publisher placement. The consumer sees the advertiser's name at the point of choice. The consent copy in the campaign brief describes the communication type (typically email). The action is affirmative: the person chooses to subscribe to that brand. The record is then delivered into the brand's CRM so the brand can run its own welcome and lifecycle messages under that consent. That is the PECR-shaped part of the product: specific, named, opt-in consent captured in the publisher environment, then handed to the advertiser as first-party data.
What the brand must still do
Once the subscriber is in your CRM, you are responsible for honouring unsubscribe requests, sending only the communication types consented to, and keeping your own suppression lists. Huuddle does not send the marketing emails for you.
What we do not claim
We do not claim a third-party PECR certification. We do not currently attach a full PECR evidence pack (IP, source URL, wording snapshot) to every record in-product. If you need a particular evidence standard for a campaign, agree it on the IO before go-live.
